Marie grew up in the countryside of Menomomee Falls Wisconsin, surrounded by colorful orchards, gardens and nature. In 1982 she moved to Saranac Lake.
Marie pursued her interest in fused glass techniques during the years in which she worked as a family and marriage therapist. After she retired, she has been able to expand her knowledge and techniques of fusing glass through weaving, combining screen melting, cold working, kiln firing, and combining wood and metal with glass. She has tapped into her roots and inner life to discover aesthetic possibilities, harmonies, colors and tones. Her works have appeared in juried art shows in Connecticut, Massachusetts as well as New York.
Marie’s Wellsprings Studio is situated on her home property where she lives with her husband and six animals, with spectacular views of Whiteface, Moose and MacKenzie Mountains and the High Peaks Great Range.
