Toos grew up in the Netherlands, and spent time in New Mexico when she came to the United States. It was during her time in New Mexico that she developed her love for turquoise and coral. The American Southwest has heavily influenced her jewelry. She has lived in the Adirondacks for the past fifteen years, on the Upper Chateaugay Lake in Lyon Mountain with her husband, David.
Her Jewelry is made primarily from copper, often in combination with silver. She especially likes the organic look of copper and the beautiful patinas it offers.
Toos recently has been working with polymer clay. TAUNY has several examples of such work.
