The Folkstore’s Selection of CDs by Bill Smith, Adirondack Pack Basket Weaver, Story Teller, Singer and one of TAUNY’s Living Traditions Award winner. Bill is widely known in the North Country as a master of traditional arts. As a boy, he was fascinated by the ash basket weaving of Mohawk men who camped in the woods by his family’s home on their way to work in the lumber woods. He learned stories of woodsmen from his father who worked as a logger. In his performances, he retells traditional stories as well as new ones he’s created. |
