Cassie Helman

Cassie is a self-taught ceramicist.  Originally from Maine, she has lived in the North Country for the past six years.  Her personal practice and artwork is an adaptation of Funk Art,  inspired by the Beatnik culture - characterized by environmentalism, liberation and bold fads.  
She took a beginner’s pottery class at Third-Wheel Pottery Studio and was hooked, discovering the sense of community among ceramic artists.

”It was as if my hands were made to work with clay…clay can be molded and shaped to every changing piece of myself…I can start with a lump of 
mud and turn it into a treasure.

My ceramic works will vary from upbeat, odd and high impact color ways to abstract sculpture concepts”.
