Helen has been designing and making braided rugs for nearly 50 years.
Rug braiding is one of the oldest American domestic crafts. It involves cutting and rolling scraps of old clothes - a skill Helen learned from her grandmother.
She began selling her rugs in 1976. Her talent for choosing and blending fabric colors and patterns is outstanding. And her use of feathers, fur and other elements make her braided baskets truly one of a kind pieces.
Helen also makes custom rugs on commission in her studio.
