Helen Condon

 

Helen has been designing and making braided rugs for over 50 years.

Rug braiding is one of the oldest American domestic crafts.  It involves cutting or ripping scraps of old clothes into strips which are then rolled, braided and stitched together - a skill Helen learned from her grandmother.

She began selling her rugs in 1976.  Her talent for choosing and blending fabric colors and patterns results in exceptional work.  And her use of feathers, fur and other elements make her braided baskets truly one of a kind pieces.

Helen also makes custom rugs on commission in her studio.
