Michiko Taylor
The watercolor art of Michiko Taylor will be on display in the Spotlight Gallery on the main floor of the TAUNY Center from Saturday, June 3rd - Saturday, July 29th. All artwork in the Exhibit will be on sale through Tuesday August 1st.
Michiko Taylor was a commercial artist in her home country of Japan. She emigrated to the US in 1981,but didn’t discover the medium of watercolor until she attended a summer class at SUNY Potsdam in 2001. Michiko’s watercolors range from traditional Japanese Sumi-e to landscapes and scenes of the North Country. Bold flowers are a particular love of hers - as she views her art as a way to “freeze” their beauty in time. In fact, she sees all her work as capturing and preserving a specific moment in time. Her original work “Dragonfly”, won first place in the Eye For Color Competition.
Her studio and gallery is located on County Route 47 in Potsdam.
