Wednesday February 5th, 4-5:30pm, the TAUNY Center, Canton, NY
$15 per person
Limit of 30 participants
This step-by-step sourdough bread making workshop will emphasize how to have sourdough “work for you, not vice versa”. The focus will be on starting the dough, kneading and baking. Participants will leave with starter and dough to bake at home. Artisan bread maker Tom Van de Water taught science at Canton High School and still works as a fire lookout for the US Forest Service in Idaho. He has been baking bread for many years, and travels with his sourdough starter.
The kitchen is the heart of the home and where we hear great stories while helping relatives and friends to cook favorite meals. Kitchen Stories is a series which invites home cooks to prepare a meal in The TAUNY Center’s kitchen and share stories and memories associated with a beloved family recipe or cultural food tradition.
The TAUNY Center is a wheelchair-accessible space.
