Collection: Shannon Rock

Shannon is the newest artisan to join TAUNY’s exceptional group of craftspeople.  Her work incorporates elements of the North Country by using techniques to reflect the beauty of Upstate New York.  Her time in the outdoors is the inspiration for her work.  
She started working with clay in high school. But her college experience led to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology.  Her work provided services for intellectually and developmental disabilities - incorporating arts as an alternative form of expression.  She opened her pottery studio Serene Reflections Pottery in 2023.

Her techniques include hand-built slab or coil, wheel thrown and creating molds for slip casting.  She uses botanicals, fabrics and everyday items to impress designs in her clay.  She also carves designs, and uses sgraffito technique.  Her designs often come from places she has been, in addition to imaginative abstract designs.
