Quilts From the Estate of Betty Vebber, Pierrepont, NY
Betty Vebber, who passed away in January 2017 at the age of 88, was a prolific quilter whose work was shown regularly at TAUNY and other venues. She was a charter member of Borderline Quilters and a member of Sunday Rock Quilters. She was particularly recognized for her fine appliqué work.
Appliqué is a technique in which cut pieces of fabric are sewn to the top surface of the quilt to create images and patterns. Betty's hand stitches are so fine, that they are hard to see even up close. Flowers and vines were her specialty.
