Spotlight Exhibit, “Captured Moments” - The Art of Catherine Hartung

Opening Day, Saturday September 6th with reception and opportunity to meet the Artist from 1:00pm - 3:00pm 

”This group of paintings has been inspired by my love of nature.  When I am hiking or just working in my garden, my mind begins to wander to a place where visual imagery and thoughts meld together.  Colors and shapes call out to me and they combine with memories of special moments in my personal life. All of the paintings in this exhibit are based on my experiences in the Adirondacks or in my backyard where I’ve created a meadow for pollinators.  Each piece has a story”.

Adirondack Artist Catherine Hartung is a mixed media artist who explores the boundaries between representation and abstraction in her work.  She draws inspiration from the natural world, using the elements of art to create compositions that are both evocative and thought-provoking.  
After graduating from SUNY Geneseo with a major in jewelry and metals, Catherine began her career as a graphic artist.  She has since transitioned to working primarily as a fine artist, producing works that have garnered recognition and awards in the art world.
