Artist: Marjorie Kaniehtonkie Skidders

Marjorie is Bear Clan of the Mohawk of Akwesasne. She received a bachelor’s degree in art, and had a 25 year career as educator and school principal.  After retiring, Marjorie turned her focus to writing and photography. She began showing her photographs in 2017.  She is an award-winning photographer, and one of her works is part of the permanent collection of the NYS Museum.

This work can be purchased, but it will remain a part of the Akwesasne Exhibit “Threads of Connection” until January 2027.
