Horsehair & Feathers Small Rimmed Bowl

Horsehair and feather pots are made by refiring bisqued pots to around 1800 degrees.  They are pulled red hot from the kiln and horsehair or feathers are placed on the pots and burn the unique patterns into the clay.

As with Raku, and pit-fired pottery this very old technique cannot hold water or be used for food.
