Horsehair & Feathers Vase with Copper Wire Wrap

Horsehair and feather pottery is made by refiring the pot at 1800 degrees.  It is pulled from the kiln red hot, and horsehair and feathers are placed on the pot and burn the unique patterns into the clay.

*As with Raku and pit-fired pottery, this very old technique cannot hold water or be used for food.
