When John Miller saw his first souvenir paddle, he was intrigued by its history and beauty. MIniature paddles have been made in the North Country for over 100 years. Combining his interest in the history of the Adirondacks and the Thousand Islands and with his experience as a portrait and landscape painter, John started the Thousand Islands Picture Paddles in 1995. His 22 inch paddles have images of native wildlife, canoes, boats, and lighthouses.
Join us for a hands-on Paddle Painting Workshop at the TAUNY Center, 53 Main Street Canton, NY. In this two-hour class, John Miller III will share his experience and design ideas, and demonstrate the fundamentals of paddle painting. And you’ll get a chance to create your own one-of-a-kind paddle as a gift for a favorite nature-lover, or just to inspire your artistic side. Feel free to bring your own photograph or design to paint on your paddle.
All materials and paints are supplied. No prior painting experience necessary.
Maximum of 15 Participants
