Mohawk basket maker and 2015 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow, Carrie Hill, has woven a set of six baskets - each representing a member of the Six Nations: Seneca, Tuscarora, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida and Mohawk. The feather arrangements on each basket reflect the distinct, traditional headdress of each tribe.
These works can be purchased, but they will remain a part of the Akwesasne Exhibit “Threads of Connection” until January 2027.
